چکیده

Background : Epicardial fat thickness and HBA1C level are usefull independent indicator for metabolic syndrome type 2 diabetus mellitus respectively10,9 .studies on the correlation between epicardial in coronary artery disease limited .Hence we aim to evaluate of acute syndrome. Objective The Target this work was investigate link Methodology 123 patient .Electrocardiogram (ECG), pad measured using transthoracic echocardiogram glycosylated haemogloblin (HBA1C),fasting blood glucose (FBG) fasting total cholesterol were documented . waist circumference (WC) ,Hip (HC) ,And Body mass index (BMI) hip ratio (WHR)were calculated Results Total who fulfilled criteria taken into studies. # - as these normally distributed attributes, hence Pearsons r value has been used interpret correlation. All other attributes have Spearmans correlation, spearmans analysis performed .as shown table 1 , (r 0.402) with p <0,001 shows strong relationship Conclusion In high increasing .This suggestive moderate level.

The relation between epicardial fat thickness and metabolic syndrome

We read the article Usefulness of the epicardial fat tissue thickness as a diagnostic criterion for geriatric patients with metabolic syndrome by Kaya, et al. The authors aimed to evaluate the epicardial fat tissue thickness (EFT) as a diagnostic criterion for geriatric patients with metabolic syndrome (MetS). They concluded that EFT levels were higher in geriatric patients with MetS and can th...

Echocardiographic Epicardial Fat Thickness on Short Term Prognosis in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome

Introduction Metabolic syndrome is related to multiple cardiovascular risk factors. Visceral obesity seems to play a key role in the development of all features of metabolic syndrome. Hence, the detection of visceral adipose tissue, fat deposited around the internal organs, might be important for the risk stratification of metabolic syndrome. Several methods are applied as surrogates for estima...

Correlation Between Epicardial Fat Thickness by Echocardiography and Other Parameters in Obese Adolescents

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Obesity has reached epidemic proportions globally and affects people of all ages. Recent studies have shown that visceral adipose tissue measured by magnetic resonance imaging and/or computed tomography correlates positively with epicardial adipose tissue. Epicardial fat, which is correlated to several metabolic parameters, can be assessed by echocardiography. The aim ...

The association between epicardial fat thickness in echocardiography and coronary restenosis in drug eluting stents

BACKGROUND The association between epicardial fat and coronary in-stent restenosis has not been evaluated. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the relationship of echocardiographic epicardial fat thickness (EFT) with restenosis in drug eluting stents (DES). METHODS In this study, 117 patients who underwent coronary angiography due to recurrent clinical symptoms or findings of n...
